Patronus Summer Jolly 2017

It’s always a pleasure to meet up with our colleagues socially and this year’s Summer Jolly saw us heading to Hever Castle, the beautiful childhood home of Anne Boleyn.

Luckily the sun was shining and after light refreshments we were free to visit the picturesque castle with its impressive wood panelling and fine carvings, and then wander through the extensive grounds. After a morning exploring we returned to the well-kept lawns for a delicious BBQ lunch.

A surprise audience with King Henry VIII heralded us following the procession from the Castle Forecourt to the jousting grounds where the brave knights and their fine steeds battled for favours, much to the delight of the crowd.

After this amazing spectacle there was still plenty of time left for us to continue exploring: walking round the lake and gardens; getting lost in the maze; having a go at archery or visiting the fascinating miniature model house exhibition and gift shop.

As the day drew to a close we made our way back to the lawns for a final game of croquet and to catch up on the day’s exploits, before enjoying a sumptuous cream tea and then saying our fond farewells.
